MSU Women's Soccer Announces 2008 Schedule
Eleven home matches and road trips to perennial powers DePaul and BYU highlight the 2008 Michigan State women's soccer schedule. The Spartans open their 18th season under head coach Tom Saxton Friday, Aug. 29 at DePaul. MSU's home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 5 against Eastern Michigan. Saxton made the schedule announcement Tuesday, June 10.

Spartans Continue Spring Play With Tie, Win Over In-State Foes
Michigan State women's soccer team went unbeaten at two exhibition games at the Walled Lake Showcase Saturday, March 15. MSU tied Central Michigan, 0-0, before routing Michigan, 5-0. Sophomore Lauren Hill and freshman Cara Freeman each scored two goals and sophomore Lauren Sinacola had a goal and and two assists.

Spartans Take On Mexican National Team, Fall 3-1
The Michigan State women's soccer team kicked off its spring exhibition season Wednesday (March 12) night with a friendly versus the Mexican National Team. Play was tight throughout most of the contest before Mexico scored two late goals to pull away for a 3-1 win. Cara Freeman scored in the match's 69th minute for Michigan State's only goal.

MSU Women's Soccer Adds Nine Student-Athletes
The Michigan State women's soccer team has signed nine student-athletes - eight of whom hail from the state of Michigan - to National Letters of Intent. 2007 all-state players Laura Heyboer (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian), Katelin Chaklos (Novi, Mich./Novi), Jill Flietstra (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian), Megan Pines (Troy, Mich./Troy) and Sarah Stern (Northville, Mich./Northville) will join U.S. Youth Soccer standouts Mikalia Dennis (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), Hannah Peterson (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central), Taylor Miller (Northville, Mich./Okemos) and Jacquelina Accurso (Shelby Twp., Mich./Notre Dame Prep) on the MSU squad in the fall of 2008. Head coach Tom Saxton and the Spartan coaching staff made the announcement Friday, Feb. 8.

19 Spartan Women's Soccer Players Recognized For Academic Success
Nineteen Michigan State women's soccer student-athletes were named Academic All-Big Ten for the fall athletic season, as announced by the Big Ten office Friday, Dec. 6. The 19 honorees is tops in the Big Ten and a school record. The men's cross country team had three honorees, the women's cross country and field hockey teams each had eight, the football team had eight, the men's soccer team had five honorees and Spartan volleyball team rounded out the fall lineup with six honorees.

Women's Soccer Concludes Season With Tie At Michigan
Sophomore Lauren Hill scored a second-half goal and senior goalkeeper Nicole Galas made nine saves to lead the Michigan State women's soccer team in a 1-1 tie against Michigan Friday night in the season finale. MSU finishes the 2007 campaign with a 7-10-1 record, including a 1-8-1 Big Ten mark. Michigan concludes the year 3-9-6 and 1-5-4 in the Big Ten.

Women's Soccer Concludes Season At Michigan
The Michigan State women's soccer team (7-10-1, 1-8 Big Ten) concludes its season Friday, Nov. 2 at Michigan. Kickoff for the season finale is set for 7 p.m. The Spartans are 2-1-2 against the Wolverines over the past five years, and they defeated Michigan, 1-0, on Oct. 27 of last year.
