Women's Soccer falls to Scarlet Knights, 1-0

The Michigan State Spartans dropped their first ever Big Ten conference match against Rutgers, 1-0, Friday evening in Piscataway, New Jersey. The teams remained scoreless for 88 minutes until Rutgers midfielder Samantha Valiant buried a shot, top-right corner off of a free kick to put the game away for the Scarlet Knights.


Women's Soccer Travels East to Rutgers, Maryland

For the first time in history, the Michigan State women's soccer team will take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Maryland Terrapins as Big Ten conference opponents. The two teams joined the conference in July, after making the move from the ACC.


Gophers Top Spartans in Overtime, 1-0

The Michigan State women's soccer team lost its second consecutive game in overtime on Sunday afternoon, falling, 1-0, to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Minnesota ended the game in the fourth minute of overtime when a loose ball at the top of the six-yard-box was poked in by Josee Stiever.


MSU falls to No.9 Wisconsin, 2-1, in Overtime

The Michigan State women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season this afternoon, falling 2-1 in overtime to the No.9 Wisconsin Badgers. The Spartans competed hard for 90 minutes, but surrendered the game deciding goal off a corner kick in the first minute of overtime. Becca Harrison was the hero for the Badgers, scoring both goals in the win.


Women's Soccer Begins Big Ten Play

The Michigan State women's soccer team will begin Big Ten play this weekend by hosting both Wisconsin and Minnesota at DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans and No. 9 Badgers will kick off at 3:30 on Friday and the game will be televised live on BTN. On Sunday, MSU and Minnesota will meet at noon.
