Gophers Top Spartans in Overtime, 1-0

The Michigan State women's soccer team lost its second consecutive game in overtime on Sunday afternoon, falling, 1-0, to the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Minnesota ended the game in the fourth minute of overtime when a loose ball at the top of the six-yard-box was poked in by Josee Stiever.


MSU falls to No.9 Wisconsin, 2-1, in Overtime

The Michigan State women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season this afternoon, falling 2-1 in overtime to the No.9 Wisconsin Badgers. The Spartans competed hard for 90 minutes, but surrendered the game deciding goal off a corner kick in the first minute of overtime. Becca Harrison was the hero for the Badgers, scoring both goals in the win.


Women's Soccer Begins Big Ten Play

The Michigan State women's soccer team will begin Big Ten play this weekend by hosting both Wisconsin and Minnesota at DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans and No. 9 Badgers will kick off at 3:30 on Friday and the game will be televised live on BTN. On Sunday, MSU and Minnesota will meet at noon.


Spartans Defeat Broncos in Double Overtime Thriller

The Michigan State women's soccer team ended its non-conference campaign with a perfect 6-0-0 record after taking down Western Michigan in double overtime, 3-2, Sunday afternoon. Allyson Krause netted the game-winning goal in the 102nd minute, when she was sprung lose on a breakaway by Paige Wester, and slipped one past a sprawled Broncos keeper.


Spartans Drop Mastodons, 3-1

The Michigan State women's soccer team continued its hot play Friday evening in East Lansing, beating the IPFW Mastodons by a score of 3-1. After getting out to an early lead the Spartans turned to their bench, playing a season-high 22 players in the win.
