WALLED LAKE, Mich. - Michigan State women's soccer team went unbeaten at two exhibition games at the Walled Lake Showcase Saturday, March 15. MSU tied Central Michigan, 0-0, before routing Michigan, 5-0. Sophomore Lauren Hill and freshman Cara Freeman each scored two goals and sophomore Lauren Sinacola had a goal and and two assists.

Sinacola gave MSU a 1-0 lead when she sent a free kick around a wall of Wolverine defenders and into the net from 20 yards out.

Freeman then scored a pair of goals to put the Spartans ahead 3-0. On the first tally, Sinacola lofted a free kick from 30 yards out into the box, and Freeman beat the Michigan keeper to the ball and scored. Junior midfielder Krist Timar set up Freeman with the match's third tally, taking a turnover at midfield and feeding Freeman for an empty-net goal.

Hill then scored twice to push the lead to 5-0. Sinacola assisted on the fourth goal, and Hill capitalized on a 50/50 then juked past the keeper for another empty-net goal for the Spartans.

MSU (1-1-1 this spring) continues spring exhibition play Tuesday, April 1 against Oakland at the Ultimate Soccer indoor complex in Pontiac, Mich. The exhibition will begin at 9 p.m.
