EAST LANSING, Michigan - Head coach Tom Saxton announced the 2014 Michigan State women's soccer schedule today, July 8. The Spartans will play 19 regular-season games, including 12 against teams that competed in last year's NCAA Tournament.
MSU will open the campaign in California, taking on a pair of 2013 NCAA Tournament teams in San Diego State on Aug. 22 and then Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 24.
"Starting the season in California will be a challenge and it will give us a good indication of where we are as a team," said Saxton, who will be entering his 24th season as head coach. "We have a very challenging schedule and we're excited for the test."
Prior to heading to California, the Spartans will meet Final Four participant Virginia in their lone exhibition game on Aug. 15 in Maple City, Michigan.
