Colorado Springs, Colo. -- The Michigan State women's soccer team defeated Colorado College, 2-1, in a non-conference match on Friday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Spartans improved to 11-7 on the season, while the Tigers fell to 6-9-2.

In the first half, the Tigers' Katlin Okamoto started the scoring in the 14th minute off a pass from Stevie Kernan. The Tigers went into the second half leaving the Spartans scoreless. The Spartans managed to "trick" the Tigers by scoring two goals late in the second half. The first goal was scored by Michigan State's Tiffany Laskowski (Sr., Troy) at 78:23 and the second goal was scored in the 85th minute by Spartan Emma Harris (So., Portage). Both goals were assisted by Michigan State's Michelle Perun (Sr., Rochester).

The Spartans outshot the Tigers, 15-12, with Spartan goalkeeper Stacy Heller (Sr., Madison, Wis.) and Tigers goalkeeper Meghann Loseke both finished with seven saves each.

MSU plays New Mexico in a non-conference match on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. in Colorado Springs, Colo.
