Coach Bauer's Comments:

"Marissa comes to the program with a great familiarity of Michigan State and the area having gone to high school in East Lansing. I can see improvements in her game each day and I think that she will benefit greatly from the team environment and matchplay. Marissa has been working in practice to add to her game and I can see that if she sticks to it she will be able to develop a style that is much more physical and tactically sound.

"Marissa has many of the pieces of the puzzle and training will help place those together to result in a more defined and consistent approach to point play. I look for Marissa to develop a strong service and to bring her baseline game more forward into the court to pressure opponents. Marissa has room to grow and has the chance to be one of our most improved athletes."
