In his fifth season, MSU assistant coach Brett Page adds a huge dimension to the Spartan Tennis Coaching Staff. Page and MSU head coach Tim Bauer met while Page was still playing professional tennis and coaching WTA players at the Van der Meer Tennis Academy on Hilton Head Island, S.C. Page brings impressive coaching credentials to the program. "Brett continues to be a vital part of our success," said head coach Tim Bauer. "By expressing his wise on court advice he is able to reach each individual athlete to help produce winning results."
The years following his travels on the professional tennis satellite tour have seen Page assume several prestigious coaching positions. For over eight years he has been employed by the Fancutt Tennis Academy as a Senior Tennis Professional in Brisbane, Australia. The Fancutt facility holds a reputation as one of the finest training centers for elite players within Australia, having produced several WTA and ATP tour successes. Page has directed hundreds of programs and traveled with the Fancutt's elite players over the years. In 1998 Page was honored and asked to join the staff of the Australian Federation Cup Team as a "Specialist Training Partner". His coaching has brought him throughout Australia, Europe, and the United States. Page has trained or worked at several US tennis landmarks such as the Saddlebrook/Hopman Tennis Academy, the Nick Bolletieri Tennis Academy and the Van der Meer Tennis Academy In addition to his work with several top 100 WTA players, Page was hired by the Dutch WTA Superstar Brenda Schultz as a training partner. |
