Women’s Tennis Begins Fall Campaign at Wildcat Invite

Michigan State women’s tennis travels to Northwestern for its first fall tournament of the season.

2017-18: Sophomore

Finished with a 20-5 singles record and 6-4 doubles record… Led the team for the most overall singles wins with 20.

Spring 2018: Led the team with the most dual singles wins at 17 and the most B1G wins with 10… Went 17-3 in singles during the spring season and went 10-1 in conference singles… Consistently played at No. 6 singles for a majority of the season, where she went an undefeated 10-0 in conference play… Clinched the team’s wins against Penn State (3/30) and Maryland (4/15) with victories at No. 6 singles… Saw action in three matches in doubles play, as she defeated duos from Xavier and Grand Canyon.

Fall 2017: Singles – Had a record of 3-2 in singles play… Qualified for the main draw of the 2017 ITA Division I Women’s Midwest Regional Championship… Went 2-0 at the Louisville Tennis Classic and 1-1 at the Wildcat Invite. Doubles – Compiled a record of 4-4 in doubles… Partnered with Lexi Baylis to go 2-2 at the Wildcat Invite and at the Midwest Regional Championship… Paired with Aslina Chua, Sara Kuuttila and Baylis at the Louisville Classic to go 2-1 on the tournament.

2016-17: Freshman
Went 9-7 in singles play and 16-14 in doubles play during her freshman campaign… Won her first collegiate singles match in straight sets vs. Carin Runefelt from Iowa (11/29)… Her 16 doubles wins with Athena Trouillot were the most on the team… Went 2-2 in conference play and won two of her final three matches of the season.

Prior to MSU:
Attended Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pa...was a five-star recruit who ranked as high as No. 53 on was also ranked the No. 1 prospect in Pennsylvania... Won her singles section and qualified for the WPIAL Class AAA singles for the first time in school history since 2002... Graduated with high honors.

Personal: Daughter of Ronald and Ana May Memije... has two younger brothers, Adam and Logan, and one older sister, Tricia... Born July 3, 1998... Plans to major in communication.
