EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team opened its 2014 season strong, claiming both victories in doubleheader action against Toledo and Detroit on Sunday. MSU (2-0, 0-0) swept Toledo 7-0 and beat Detroit 6-1 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.

"Having a doubleheader is always tough because it's a long day and there are more matches than normal," head coach Simone Jardim said. "Overall I was pleased with the way we found a way to win in most of the matches. This is only the beginning, we have a long way to go. We have to get better but we got the job done and we got the win."
