Women's Tennis Defeats FIU
Spartans pick up 10th win of the season against Florida International University, 5-2.

MIAMI, Fla. – Michigan State women’s tennis topped Florida International University, 5-2 on Thursday afternoon in Miami. The Spartans are now 10-3 on the season.
In doubles play, junior Marina Bohrer and sophomore Catherine Parenteau edged Rita Maisak and Aleksand Trifunovic on court one, 9-7. At the No. 3 spot, sophomore Julianne Gruber and freshman Emily Meyers downed their competition, 8-1, to help MSU earn the doubles point.
At the top spot in singles competition, Bohrer fell in the first set to Carlotta Orlando, 4-6, before taking the win, 7-6 (6-2), 10-6. Junior Olga Chernova picked up a win on court two, 6-2, 6-2. Taking the point at the fifth slot was senior Nicole Herzog as she recorded the win, 6-2, 6-1, against Magali Holt. Senior Michaela Silesova blanked Michelle Sabado on court six, 6-0, 6-0.
The Spartans will compete in the Blue-Gray Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., next weekend, March 15-17.
