Final Stats

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team fell, 7-0, to Wisconsin on Saturday, April 3 in Madison, Wis. and then 6-1 to No. 4 Northwestern on Sunday, April 4 in Evanston, Ill. The two losses put Michigan State at 6-12 overall and 0-5 in Big Ten play.

Although Wisconsin picked up the doubles point, the Spartans were able to post a win at No. 3 doubles. Freshman Michaela Silesova (Topolcany, Slavakia) partnered with sophomore Elena Ivanova (Moscow, Russia) to outlast Aleksandra Markovic and Jessica Seyferth, 8-5.

No. 4 Northwestern also earned the doubles point over the Green and White. However, singles action saw success from junior Whitney Wilson (Evansville, Ind.) when she defeated Kate Turvy at the No. 3 spot, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2.

The Spartans return home as they continue Big Ten play first taking on Ohio State at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10 and then Penn State on Sunday, April 11 at 10 a.m. Both matches will be held on the campus of Michigan State.
