Women's Tennis Edged by Iowa, 4-3

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women’s tennis fell to Iowa, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. The Spartans own a 10-13 record on the season and are 0-8 in Big Ten matches.
Michigan State began the match by taking the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Seniors Nicole Herzog and Michaela Silesova downed Katie Zordani and Christina Harazin of Iowa, 8-1, in the second slot. At the No. 3 spot, freshman Emily Meyers and sophomore Julianne Gruber posted an 8-5 win to improve their record to 12-6.
In singles play, junior Marina Bohrer won in the top spot in two sets, 6-2, 7-5 against the Hawkeye's Ruth Seaborne. Picking up the third Spartan win was Meyers at slot five, 6-4, 7-5.
The Green and White will face Nebraska Sunday, April 14, at the MSU Outdoor Tennis Facility at 12 p.m. The location could change due to inclement weather.
