Meet the Spartans: Emily Meyers

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team will begin its 2014 spring schedule Jan. 19 against Toledo and Detroit. In an attempt to "Meet the Spartans," will feature a student-athlete every week leading up to and then continuing throughout the season. Sophomore Emily Meyers (Naperville, Ill.) is featured this week. Meyers tallied a 6-3 singles record during the fall schedule. She ended the fall on a three-game winning streak and won four of her last five. She also teamed with junior Julianne Gruber to tally a 4-2 doubles mark. Meyers and Gruber advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships.

If you could play doubles with anyone in the world, who would you play with: Julianne Gruber, I have no desire to play with anybody else

Reason for coming to MSU: I wanted to go to a Big Ten school and when I visited here I really liked the team and the coaches

Post-school plans: I probably want to do some sort of graduate program in business
