EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team holds a 10-2 record so far into its 2014 schedule. In an attempt to "Meet the Spartans," msuspartans.com will feature a student-athlete every week throughout the season. Senior Olga Chernova (Moscow, Russia) is featured this week. Chernova has been a consistent presence in the singles starting lineup during her four years in Green and White. She currently holds a 10-2 singles record in spring dual play, seeing action on courts two, three, four and five. Chernova is also 2-0 in doubles this season, pairing with Katarina Lingl and Anna Zelechonok.

Favorite part about your hometown: It's famous for churches and cathedrals. It's a really old city. It's the center of the Orthodox church in Russia
Reason for coming to MSU: Michigan State University is a great school and has a good business program. I planned to go to a Division I school and I really liked the coaches.
