EAST LANSING, Mich. -

2005 Big Ten Bracket

Michigan State University will be hosting the 2005 Big Ten Women's Tennis Championships April 28-May 1. All 11 teams will be participating to see who will claim this year's Big Ten tournament title and earn the Big Ten's automatic berth into the 2005 NCAA tournament. Admission is free throughout the entire tournament.

10 a.m. Match 1: First Round #8 Penn State def. #9 Ohio State, 4-1
2 p.m. Match 2: First Round #7 Michigan def. #10 Michigan State, 4-1

Friday, April 29

Results will be updated online at www.msuspartans.com and www.bigten.org throughout the tournament as well as the completion of each day. If you wish to receive a PDF email of the results, please contact Brad Gust or Danielle Ruman in the MSU sports information office at 517-355-2271.

Members of the media are welcome at any time during the tournament. Passes are not needed. A member of the MSU sports information office will be at the tournament during each day of competition. If you wish to take live or still pictures of a particular match, you may do so from outside the fences around the courts. On-court photography will also be allowed, but please contact Brad Gust or Danielle Ruman beforehand for instructions at 517-355-2271.

Michigan State Facilities
The MSU Outdoor Courts will serve as the primary facility for the Big Ten Championships with the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility serving as a back-up in case of inclement weather. The outdoor facilities feature 20 courts, 12 competition and eight recreation, with portable bleachers while the indoor facility contains eight courts, seating for 1,200 and spacious locker rooms.

Parking
Team vehicles and handicap parking will be located just west of the outdoor courts. Public parking will be available for a fee in lot 79 immediately south of the football stadium. If play is moved to the indoor facility, substantial parking is available on site and is free every day. Directions to the facilities are listed below.

Driving Directions to MSU Outdoor Courts
From West: I-496 through Lansing to U.S. 127 South. Take Exit 9 (Trowbridge Road) which heads east from the highway. Turn left on Harrison Road. Turn right on Shaw Lane. Parking lot 79 will be on the left side, south of the football stadium.
From East: I-96 west to U.S. 127 North. Take Exit 9 (Trowbridge Road) which heads east from the highway. Turn left on Harrison Road. Turn right on Shaw Lane. Parking lot 79 will be on the left side, south of the football stadium.
From North: South on U.S. 127. Take Exit 9 (Trowbridge Road) which heads east from the highway. Turn left on Harrison Road. Turn right on Shaw Lane. Parking lot 79 will be on the left side, south of the football stadium.

Championship Headquarters
The host hotel for the 2004 Big Ten Men's Tennis Tournament is the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center located in downtown Lansing, next to the State Capitol.
