EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State head women's tennis coach Simone Jardim has announced that Julianne Gruber (Palm Harbor, Fla./Calvary Christian) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Spartans in the fall.
"Julianne is a great player with a lot of potential, and we are excited to welcome her in the fall," said Jardim. "Julianne is a wonderful kid who has excelled at every level she has competed at, and will be a pivotal addition to the team in the fall. We look for her to make an immediate impact and push for a position in both singles and doubles lineups."
Prior to Michigan State: Attended Calvary Christian High School ... Coached by Maria Cercone ... Qualified for the semifinals of the 2010 Jupiter Ocean Girls 18 Dec Designated after a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Shea Brodsky ... Reached the semifinals of the 2010 Florida Open Championships after downing Deborah Suarez, 0-6, 6-4, 7-5 ... Advanced to the round of 16 at the 2010 USTA National Opens ... State winner in the 12 and under doubles championships ... Placed third at the 2010 Agassi National Championships and at the National Busch Open ...
