Women's Tennis Travels to Texas Tech For Scarborough Open

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Spartan women's tennis travels to Lubbock, Texas, for the Red Raiders' two-day Scarborough Specialties Open Sept. 21-22. This year's field includes Air Force Academy, Michigan State, North Central Texas College, Texas-Pan American, Texas State, Texas Tech and Tyler Junior College.
MSU sends senior Christine Bader as well as freshmen Michelle Murphy and Whitney Wilson to compete in singles and doubles. Bader and Murphy begin their tournament action in a 9 a.m. doubles match against Texas State's Rabea Hartmann and Andrea Gulida on Friday in the black draw while Wilson is paired with Texas Tech's Gozde Unkaya; the duo will face Tyler Junior College's Ashley Longoria and Iris Rendon in the grey draw.
Singles action begins at 10:30 a.m. Friday as Bader competes against TJC's Ashley Irvin in the black draw, Murphy faces TSU's Hartmann in the red draw and Wilson takes on Erlyn Rudico from Air Force.
