Michigan State Women's Track And Field Competes In Final Day Of Big Ten Indoor Championships.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's track and field team competed at the final day of the Big Ten Indoor Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. on February 27. Indiana won the competition with 150 points. The Hoosiers were followed by Wisconsin (112), Minnesota (80), Purdue (78), Michigan (77), Ohio State (76), Illinois (75), Penn State (21), Michigan State (18), and Iowa (15).

Michigan State Senior Jen Denkins (Flushing, Mich.) led the Spartans, finishing third with an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 16:40.42 in the 5,000m run finals. MSU freshman Sherita Williams (Tampa, Fla.) turned in a third place performance in the triple jump finals with a mark of 39' 11.25". In the high jump, sophomore Maia Knox (Ypsilanti, Mich.) placed seventh with a 5' 5.25" jump.

Next up for the Spartans are the NCAA Championships, March 10-11 in Indianapolis, Ind.
