YPSILANTI, Mich.- Selected member of the Michigan State women's track and field team competed today (Saturday, April 16) at the Eastern Michigan Twilight at Olds-Marshall Track in Ypsilanti. Freshman Melinda Buckmaster finished on top with her second consecutive javelin throw title for the Spartans.

Buckmaster took the javelin throw title with a season-high toss of 41.42m. Last week at the Spartan Open, she also finished in first place in the same event with a toss of 40.78m.

Also competing well for the Spartans was junior Katie Anderson, who finished second in the women's 5000-meter run with a time of 17:35.96, while Rebecca Warner placed in a six-way tie for second in the pole vault (11-6) and senior Shiloh Wint finished in a three-way tie for eighth place in the same event with a vault of 11-0. Junior Danielle Linenger finished in a four-way tie for fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5-2.
