MSU Volleyball Announces Additions to Staff

Krista Groce, a Kent State graduate, is named Volunteer Assistant Coach.

Krista Groce begins her first season with the Michigan State Spartans volleyball team in 2012 as Volunteer Assistant Coach. Groce brings with her a strong playing background at Kent State as well as valuable coaching experience at Davenport University. She will be able to combine her strong work ethic and extensive knowledge of the sport on the sidelines this season.

Groce served as an assistant coach at Davenport University for two years, from 2010-12. She also served as the head coach of the FaR Out Volleyball Club from 2009-12. During her time as head coach, she also served as a lead coach, mentoring other coaches in the club and assisting with practices and strategies.

Groce was also a junior varsity assistant coach at East Kentwood High School, her alma mater, in 2009. And before that was the head coach of Renaissance Cleveland 12's Regional Team.

She graduated from Kent State with a degree in exercise physiology and had a successful playing career from 2005-08. During her senior season, she led her team in blocks and was the Strength and Conditioning Volleyball Athlete of the Year.
