Draymond Green named Alderton Male Athlete of the Year; Laura Heyboer and Caroline Powers named Alderton Female Co-Athletes of the Year.
The Big Ten Medal of Honor is presented to one male and one female student-athlete from the graduating class of each university who has "attained the greatest proficiency in athletics and scholastic work."
A record 294 Spartan student-athletes were honored for cumulative GPAs of 3.0 or better.
Spartan senior is the third Spartan to earn the prestigious honor.
Rathje becomes the ninth All-American in MSU history.

Averaged 3.93 kills per set which led the team and her .223 hitting percentage was good enough for fifth ... Had 20-kill efforts in each of the Spartans' first three matches of the season, earning her a spot on the Nike Sooner Legends Invite All-Tournament Team ... Posted a double-double in each of the first two matches of the season with 20 kills and 18 digs against Oklahoma (8/29) and 24 kills and 13 digs against No. 10 Cal Poly (8/29); her 24 kills were a season- and then career-high ...
