MSU Falls to USA Volleyball in Exhibition Match

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Michigan State women's volleyball team dropped a three-game decision to the United States National Team in an exhibition match played at Grand Rapids, Mich. Game scores were 15-13, 15-3 and 15-4.

Michigan State hit just .032 for the match and also lost the battle at the net, being outblocked 12 to five. Veronica Morales led the way for the Spartans, posting team-highs with nine kills and 12 digs. Valerie Sterk spearheaded the USA attack with 10 kills, while Karrie Downey added eight kills and 12 digs.

Michigan State returns to Big Ten action this weekend, hitting the road for matches at Purdue on Friday and Ohio State on Saturday.
