Potent Spartans Down Illinois
CHAMPAGNE, Ill.--Jenna Wrobel led a potent Spartan attack Friday night, as the Michigan State women's volleyball team beat host University of Illinois 15-10, (12-15), 15-13, 15-9. The win improves the Spartan record to 20-8, 10-5 in the Big Ten. Illinois drops to 14-12, 5-11 in conference play.
Wrobel had a match high 22 kills to go with her 10 digs. Lindsey Clayton and Veronica Morlaes both had 13 kills, Morales also had a match high 23 digs. The Spartans hit a medicore .180, but blocked 17.0 shots.
Illinois was led by the three-pronged attack of Tacey Marshall, Cristy Chapman and Sara Sorrell, who had 16, 15 and 15 kills, respectively.
