Spartan Volleyball Team Downs Duquesne; Erbe Collects 400th Career Win
The 12th-ranked Michigan State volleyball team overcame a slow start to down Duquesne, 10-15, 15-6, 15-7, 15-5, giving MSU head coach Chuck Erbe his 400th career win.
The Spartans hit a season-high .411 to improve to 4-1 overall. Rookie Christie Landry hit .486 with a career-high 19 kills to pace five players with double-figure kills. Junior Jenna Wrobel hit .556 with 16 kills, while senior Veronica Morales had 16 kills and a career-high 24 digs.
Freshman setter Vicki Basil did an excellent job of distributing the ball, finishing the match with a career-high 65 assists and eight digs.
Erbe, who is in his fifth season at MSU, has a career record of 400-169-4 in 17 years at the collegiate level.
