EAST LANSING, Mich. - For the third straight summer, three members of the Michigan State volleyball team were selected to compete in the 2013 U.S. Women's National A2 Program. Alexis Mathews, Kori Moster and Lauren Wicinski will travel and compete in Dallas June 25-July 4.

"We are very excited that three of our players will gain experience with the USA A2 program again this summer," said head coach Cathy George. "This is an excellent opportunity to get to know and compete with a variety of players from around the country. USA Volleyball continues to provide extraordinary programs which will grow the sport of volleyball and enhance our chances at being successful internationally."

Mathews and Wicinski have been invited to the A2 program in the past while it will be the first time for Moster. The Spartans are one of 12 schools to have multiple selections and trail only Purdue who has four selections.

During the six-day training period from June 25-30, the 48 athletes will be divided into four equal teams that will compete in pool play against the other A2 program teams and the top four Premier Volleyball League (PVL) teams. After pool play, the four A2 program teams and PVL teams will split into their own divisions to determine the medalist teams in the competition.
