EAST LANSING, Mich. - Spartan fans had their first chance to see the 2006 team in action as the Michigan State volleyball team competed in a best-of-five intrasquad match on Saturday at Jenison Field House.

"This match was a great opportunity for our team to get on the court and compete," Michigan State head coach Cathy George said. "I was very pleased with the intensity level and also with the preparation we put into the match. I thought the effort of our entire team was very strong and our newcomers showed they are ready to play at the collegiate level."
