Follow The Spartans On Their 'European Vacation'!
Read what Lisa Ashton has to say!
June 3, 2000 Whoohoo! Swim Paradise…what a place! Last night we stayed the night at a resort area in Holland!
We first ate at a fancy Chinese restaurant that served us several various dishes. If it wasn't for Brad kindly telling us what each dish was called I think we would have remained clueless. Food connoisseurs…gotta love 'em. Thanks Brad. We then had free time after dinner (10:00) so the whole team including some of the staff enjoyed some wet 'n wild fun in the swimming pool. However, swimming pool doesn't do the place justice…maybe an exotic mini water park? Anyway, we had a lot of fun goofin' around and also witnessed two heated swimming races between our players. Vicki raced Emily and Christie raced Nikki….the winners? Emily and Nikki! The place also had a indoor putt-putt course, cocktail bar w/singing and dancing, tennis, movie theatre, and a bunch of other stuff that I don't feel like writing. The next morning we had breakfast(7:00) and we were on our way to Denmark. We had to take a ferry to cross the North Sea in the afternoon. When our bus got off the ferry we had to pass the border security. A border patrol officer got on our bus and asked to see our passports. When he came to Tammy he looked at her passport and asked where she was headed. She replied, "Denmark." He gave her a serious look and then proceeded to flip through her passport. Upon looking at her picture he asked, "Do you want to go to back to Germany or to Copenhagen." (You must understand that the bus was silent at this point wondering if our beloved Tammy was going to get scolded, evicted from the bus or possibly deported). Anyway, Tammy sheepishly uttered the word, "Copenhagen." The officer gave her passport and pointed the line where her signature was not found. He said, "Not valid unless signed." We then all took a sigh of relief and the officer smiled. While Tammy was signing her passport the bus erupted into laughter! Hopefully I got this story right and you found humor in it. Ok, I've written enough and I need to leave stuff for others to blab about…so, its been fun and I'll maybe write later. |
