    RENEWING ONLINE

    If I am renewing online and want to reduce the number of season tickets from the quantity I had last year?
    Orders can be REDUCED on the web site.

    If I am renewing online and want to increase the number of season tickets from the quantity I had last year?
    Use the ADDITIONAL ORDERS area to increase the number of season tickets from what was ordered last year. In the comment box place whether you would like to a) maintain your current seats and place the new(s) one as close as possible or b) move all seats together.

    I do not wish to pay by e-check.
    TO HELP KEEP TICKET PRICES FROM INCREASING, THE SPARTANS ASK THAT YOU PAY FOR FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS BY CHECK!!! Each year, the athletic department spends over $350,000 in credit card fees. Paying by check reduces fees and enables ticket prices to remain stable.

    Why can I not see my seat location on my application?
    Due to the stadium expansion project on the upper west side level, seat assignments have not been finalized. The Athletic Ticket Office will make every effort to assign comparable seating and seat assignments will be finalized in the summer. Please specify any season ticket holders that you are currently seated near and wish to continue to be seated near in the comment section of your order.

    What does "POPULATING SHOPPER INFORMATION" error message mean?
    There's a technical problem with your season ticket account. Please email tickets@msu.edu and include your account number and PIN number.

    What does "PLEASE TRY YOUR CUSTOMER NUMBER AND PIN AGAIN" error message mean?
    It means either the customer number or the PIN you are entering is not correct. Please email tickets@msu.edu with your account number and PIN number.

    What does "THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU ENTERED IS ALREADY IN USE, PLEASE TRY AGAIN" mean?
    You have already registered online with this email address. Please login with your email address and password (use forgot password if you have forgotten your password). A message may appear indicating that there are no online applications available for this account - please follow the instructions on this page to register your email address with your season ticket account number and PIN.

    What if I cannot remember my password?
    Use forgot password link and your password will be emailed to you.

    I have registered before, but my address for e-mail changed?
    Please login with your old email address and use the My Account, Edit My Account feature on the site to change your email address.

    I input my e-mail address and password but cannot login?
    Please email tickets@msu.edu with your email address that you are using and PIN.

    I click on FORGOT PASSWORD but do not get an e-mail with my password?
    Please email tickets@msu.edu.

    GENERAL QUESTIONS

    How do I renew my tickets?
    To renew season tickets go to www.msuspartans.com or send in your Season Ticket Renewal (mailed in mid-April) application by June 1st, 2005. If you renew online you will get a CONFIRMATION OF PAYMENT.

    What age is admitted for free to Spartan Football games?
    Everyone, regardless of age must have a ticket.

    I am ordering for the first time. Can I pick my seats and are they guaranteed?
    You may request a seat location, but all season tickets will be allocated according to the Ralph Young Fund ticket priority system. Your seat location will be based on availability and your current RYF membership level relative to all other orders. The Spartan Ticket Office will not know what availability is until ALL renewals are in and changes/adjustments are made. (late June- Early July).

    How can I pay for my tickets?
    E-check- TO HELP KEEP TICKET PRICES FROM INCREASING, THE SPARTANS ASK THAT YOU PAY FOR FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS BY CHECK!!! Each year, the athletic department spends over $350,000 in credit card fees. Paying by check reduces fees and enables ticket prices to remain stable. The Spartan Ticket Office also accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card.

    What happens if I choose not to renew my season tickets for 2005?
    Account Priority, which is earned through consecutive years of season ticket purchases, will be forfeited. The seat(s) will be offered to other Spartan Fans for purchase and they will then have renewal rights to the seat(s). Should you desire season tickets in future seasons, you will be given the best tickets available at that time according to your priority level.

    Why is there a renewal deadline?
    Season Ticket holders are eligible to renew existing seats provided they renew by the June 1st deadline. The deadline enables the Ticket Office to review seats available for reallocation to existing season ticket holders and determine what can be sold to new season ticket holders.

    How do I request a seat change?
    If you would like to request a seat change, please use the comment box that is on your renewal for your request. Seat change requests will be prioritized and filled according to seat availability and your RYF membership level relative to all requests. For more information, please visit the Ralph Young Fund website at (www.ryf.msu.edu).

    How do I improve my seats?
    Please use the comment box that is on your renewal for your request. If available, your request for seat change will be reviewed by Ralph Young Fund membership level, with all ties broken by lifetime giving to MSU Athletics.

    Can I change name or address on season tickets?
    An account name cannot be changed and tickets cannot be transferred for any reason other than death of the season ticket holder of record. In that case, only a surviving spouse may retain the season tickets and years of purchase. Make any changes in address and phone numbers on the Season Ticket Renewal Application.

    When will I know my seat location?
    When tickets are mailed in August.

    I have Family Plan, can I move closer to mid-field?
    Family Plan seats are located in the END ZONE sections ONLY!

    I am a new season ticket holder and need Handicap seating.
    Please provide documentation that you are in a wheelchair

    How do I get Faculty/Staff tickets?
    Fax or bring proof of employment. Limit 2 per employee. Eligible 1) all faculty and staff employees with at least a half-time assignment, 2) adjunct faculty appointments, 3) clinical faculty and staff at least a half-time assignment, 4) MSU credit union employees (with ID), 5) university retirees with full Michigan State University retirement benefits, 6) adjunct and clinical emeritus. Not Eligible 1) temporary assignments, 2) on-call assignments, 3) visiting faculty, 4) part-time positions.

    What time will games begin?
    The most up to date game time information can be found on the official MSU Athletics web site www.msuspartans.com or by calling 517.432.TIME.

    When do individual home football game tickets become available?
    Individual home football tickets will go on sale August 1st, based on availability. RYF members (June) and season ticket holders (July) have the opportunity to purchase home tickets before the general public. Many games are sold out before Aug 1st.

    When will I receive my tickets?
    Season tickets will be received at least 2 weeks prior to the first game of the season.

    AWAY GAMES

    When can I purchase away-game football tickets?
    Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase away game tickets once the hosts schools have finalized their prices. There may be some restrictions on certain games that will only be available to donors, with a restriction in the number they may purchase. The general public can purchase any away game tickets that do not have a restriction on them.

    Can I purchase Rose Bowl tickets from your office?
    The Spartan Ticket Office sends our allotment to the schools that are playing in the Rose Bowl. We do not sell them through our office.

    STADIUM POLICIES

    Do I need a ticket for a child?
    The policy is that everyone entering the stadium needs a ticket.

    Is there an elevator to the upper deck?
    Because the west ramps are now handicap accessible elevators are reserved for those with credentials or suite/ club tickets only.

    What size bag am I allowed to bring into the stadium?
    The bag must be smaller than 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 2". Any purses, fanny packs, backpacks, and diaper bags bigger than that size, you will be requested to take back to your car. There is no holding area at the stadium to lock up your bag. *

    Am I allowed to bring in seat cushions into the stadium?
    Seat cushions are allowed into the stadium.

    Am I allowed to bring in chairbacks into the stadium?
    Chairbacks are not allowed into the stadium, but you can purchase a chairback to be attached to your seat(s) for the entire season. Information on the rental of chairbacks is available by clicking on the title of this section. Fans are permitted to bring seat cushions (without backs) that do not infringe upon the seating space of other fans. Chair backs can purchase a cushion to be attached to your seat(s) for the entire season at www.spartanseatback.com.

    Are binoculars allowed into the stadium?
    You may bring in binoculars into the stadium but the case is not allowed.

    Are pagers, cell phones, radios or cameras allowed into the stadium?
    Pagers, cell phones, radios (without the case) and small cameras (without the case) are all allowed into the stadium.

    Are blankets and rain apparel allowed into the stadium?
    Blankets and rain apparel are allowed into the stadium as long as they are not being carried in a bag.

    Am I allowed to bring in my own bottle of water?
    You may bring in a bottle of water as long as the seal is not broken.

    Are umbrellas allowed into the stadium?
    Umbrellas are NOT allowed into the stadium. This is for the safety of those around you and the ability of those around you to see the game.

    Can I bring my Michigan State flag into the stadium?
    Flags and flagpoles are not permitted into the stadium.

    Am I allowed to bring in a thermos of hot chocolate?
    Thermoses, coolers, cups, bottles, cans, flasks, alcoholic beverages, or containers of any kind are not allowed into the stadium. Aerosol and spray cans are also not permitted.

    Am I allowed to bring my own food into the stadium?
    No, there are plenty of concessions stands in the stadium.*

    Am I able to smoke in the stadium?
    In designated areas only.

    Can I bring my camcorder into the stadium?
    Camcorders and tripods are not permitted into the stadium.

    I am bringing a child to the game, can I take the stroller into the stadium with me?
    Strollers are not allowed into the stadium.

    Is there an ATM machine in the stadium?
    We do not have an ATM machine in the stadium. There is one located outside the stadium on the south end of the stadium and in various dorms around the stadium.

    Once I enter the stadium can I leave and come back?
    Once you enter the stadium there is no re-entry.

    *Exceptions for medical reasons will be addressed individually at the gates.*

    PARKING

    How can I reserve or change my parking lot?
    Please contact the Ralph Young Fund office directly at 517-432-4610 or visit the RYF web site for additional information (www.ryf.msu.edu).

    Who qualifies for complimentary parking?
    Spartan Stadium Suite & Club Seat holders, Stadium Club, Scholarship and Directors Club members receive complimentary parking.

    Where is handicap parking?
    Lot 48, Natural Resources building, $8 per game, no season passes. Shuttle runs 2 hrs before the game to Northeast corner of Stadium and runs 1 1/2 after the game. For more information, call the Department of Police and Public Safety (DPPS) = 517.355.8440 or www.homefootball.msu.edu

    Can I get a bus pass?
    Yes, The Spartan Ticket Office will take orders and the pass will be mailed by the DPPS - Department of Police and Public Safety (not with season tickets). Close to the season beginning, The Spartan Ticket Office will stop taking season orders and DPPS will sell season passes (Farm Lane/Mt Hope) before first game. After the first game, single game passes can be purchased at the lot. Check www.homefootball.msu.edu for more information.

    All general parking information is available through the Department of Police & Public Safety (DPPS) at 517.355.8440 or www.dpps.msu.edu. General parking is $15.00 per game and is located at Munn Field and at various locations on campus. Also, in outlying lots for $10. NOTE: all parking locations will open 5 hours before game time.

    Accessible parking is located in Lot 48, behind the Natural Resources building. The entrance is off Wilson Rd. Individuals may pay upon entering the lot. They may take a shuttle ride to the Northeast corner of the stadium. The shuttle runs from 2 hours before the game, runs throughout the game and a reasonable amount of time after the game.

    Do other gifts to the University count toward my per-seat contribution?
    Gifts designated for specific sport programs, support services, Stadium Club, Munn Club and Munn Suites, Basketball special projects and Courtside Seating, or any other specific building projects or endowment funds, will NOT count toward your Scholarship Seating contribution

    What is the seat contribution Phase-in Procedure?
    The required seat contribution for renewing season ticket holders with 1 or more consecutive years of season ticket purchase will be phased-in over two or four years as follows. The phase-in calculation is based on your consecutive purchase of season tickets as of the 2003 football season. The phase-in opportunity applies to TWO season tickets.

  • 1 to 24 consecutive years of purchase - required contribution will be phased-in over two years. 2004 season (50% of the required contribution for two seats) and 2005 season and beyond (the full required contribution).
  • 25 to 49 consecutive years of purchase - required contribution will be phased-in over four years: 2004 season (25% of the required contribution for two seats), 2005 season (50% of the required contribution for two seats), 2006 season (75% of the required contribution for two seats), and 2007 season and beyond (the full required contribution).
  • 50 consecutive years of purchase or more - no required seat contribution for two season tickets.
  • This phase-in opportunity is for individuals only. Tickets held in corporate or foundation names are subject to the full required contribution.

    What is the process for renewing season tickets in Zones A, B or C?
    Current season ticket holders will have the right to retain their seats in the Scholarship Seating zones by paying the required per-seat contribution on or before the season ticket renewal deadline. For example, a season ticket holder with four seats in Zone A will be required to make an undesignated* gift to the Ralph Young Fund of $2,000 - four seats at $500 per seat. If the season ticket holder made a previous undesignated gift of $2,000 or more (received after July 1, 2004), they would not be required to make an additional gift at this time provided the gift was not applied to their 2004 seat premium.

    How do I request a seat change?
    If you would like to request a seat change, please use the comment box that is on your renewal for your request. Seat change requests will be prioritized and filled according to seat availability and your RYF membership level relative to all requests.     Is the seat contribution tax deductible?
    All required seat contributions will count toward Ralph Young Fund membership and University Donor Societies. These contributions are also 80% tax deductible under current IRS regulations. Please consult your individual tax advisor for more information.

    If I donate to RYF now, can I purchase tickets in zone A, B or C? Yes, you are eligible to purchase tickets. It does not guarantee you will get tickets in that particular zone as placement is contingent upon seat availability and your donor priority level.

    SEASON TICKET DEADLINES
    The deadline to renew Football Season Tickets is June 1, 2005. Orders received after the deadline will not be guaranteed, or previous seating location maintained.

    SEATING REQUESTS
    Special Needs
    Customers needing special seating accommodations for an Athletic event should submit the request in writing with their season ticket renewals. Please be sure to indicate the type of accommodations needed and for which event.

    Request for Seat Change
    Due to our demand for season tickets, all seat requests are difficult to accommodate. All seat requests are reviewed and every effort will be made to accommodate those requests. All requests are reviewed based on donor priority. Please use the COMMENTS area on the online renewal screen.

    SCHOLARSHIP SEAT REQUESTS/MOVEMENT
    Move seats to Scholarship Seating
    If you have season tickets outside of Scholarship Seat Zones, and would like to move to Scholarship seating, make a note on your application, or use the special handling section for an online order. Use the seat chart and specify a zone or section. Once seating is agreed upon, payment for the Scholarship Seat contribution will be invoiced.

    Move seats out of Scholarship Seating
    If you wish to move out of Scholarship Seat Zones, make a note with your order that you desire a change, and indicate at least 3 seat options for us to work on.

    Request for Additional Season Tickets
    Customers wishing to purchase additional season tickets may do so on their season ticket renewal application. Please indicate one of the following choices:
    - Retain original seats and place new seat(s) as close to original as possible
    - Together-all seats should be together, this may mean a movement in seat location to a less desirable area

    Decrease of Season Tickets
    Customers wishing to decrease the number of season tickets may do so on their renewal application or your online application. Please indicate which seats you would like to renew on the application.

    Family Plan
    Seating located in the end zones of Spartan Stadium. Minimum purchase of 4 required.

    Group Seating Requests
    Individuals with group requests to sit together should submit all orders together. Group assignments will be based on the group member with the lowest priority.

    ALLOCATION OF TICKETS
    Go to the Ralph Young Fund website www.ryf.msu.edu and click the Priority Ticket Allocation chart.

    SINGLE GAME TICKETS
    Home-individual home football tickets, based on availability:
  • July 1 - Ralph Young Fund donors and season ticket holders
  • August 1 – general public Away Games
  • July 1 - Ralph Young Fund donors and season ticket holders

    MAILINGS
  • All tickets ordered will be mailed via first class mail.
  • Football season tickets will be mailed in mid-August.
  • Single game home & away tickets will be mailed approximately 2 weeks prior to the event.
  • Parking passes – mailed from the Ralph Young Fund office (www.ryf.msu.edu) in late August.
  • Bus passes – mailed from DPS (http://www.dpps..msu.edu) in late August.
  • Student individual ticket orders will be held at WILL CALL.

    WILL CALL
    All orders placed within 6 business days of an event will be held in WILL CALL. To pick up tickets, customer must show a valid photo ID. The person ordering tickets must be the person picking up the tickets. Any alterations to this policy must be made in advance with the Michigan State University Athletic Ticket Office. The Athletic Ticket Office recommends that in order to avoid lines, customers should pick up their tickets at Jenison Field House prior to the day of the event. Will Call is located at the west side of Spartan Stadium and will open 2 hours before game time.

    ACCESSIBLE SEATING
    Contact the ticket office with accessible seat requests for season tickets. We will also accommodate barrier free requests on game day on a first come-first serve basis. Enter Spartan Stadium and proceed to Section 2, located on the North side of the stadium.

    GAME TIMES
    Home Football games will begin at 1:00pm unless changed by television. Television has up until six (6) days prior to event to change game time. The most up to date game time information can be found on the official MSU Athletics web site www.msuspartans.com or by calling 517.432.TIME.

    SHUTTLE BUS
    The commuter lot is located at Mt. Hope and Farm Lane and offers free parking and a shuttle bus transporting individuals to the stadium for $3 per person. The shuttle begins two hours before the game, runs throughout the game, and a reasonable amount of time after the game. A shuttle pass for the entire season can be purchased for $18 through the Spartan Ticket Office.

    ELEVATOR PASS
    Because the west ramps are now handicap accessible elevators are reserved for those with credentials or suite/club tickets only. The east side does not have an elevator.
